With over 30 years of combined experience, Cornerstone Builders Group is your  preferred home builder.  We understand that building a new home can be overwhelming to most clients.  It is our responsibility to walk you through the process and keep you informed every step of the way.

Our field staff are experienced from both the design aspect and construction element of the building industry.  This allows us to understand the totality of the project and  complete the home as intended on time and within budget constraints.

While we offer full design services, we welcome plans from outside sources as well.  We will work with you to make changes as desired.

Once the plans are complete and the building permit has been issued, we will meet with you and the grading contractor on site to stake out the location of your home and discuss land/site preparations.

Once excavation is complete, we will begin building your home. After the foundation is poured, your excavator will need to return to back fill around the foundation and place footing and foundation drains as appropriate. After the back fill is complete, we will begin framing your home.

After framing is complete and just prior to beginning the electrical installation at your home, we will request that you attend an electrical walk-thru at your site to finalize switch, outlet, and lighting locations, and discuss any special concerns you may have.

Construction Documentation is the phase where the custom design is translated into the technical language of the contractor. Working drawings are prepared which define in detail all of the materials that are to be incorporated into the house, where they are to be located and how they are to be installed. Although this phase is primarily intended for working out the technical aspects of the project, some designing also takes place. In addition, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and interior finish materials (tile, carpet, paint colors, etc.) are selected.

During the Bidding and Negotiation phase our designers and construction staff begins selecting sub-contractors from a qualified list of partners.  We distribute the house plans and building specifications, answer  questions, interpret the documents, and prepare addenda (revisions to the original home plans or specifications). Once the bids are received, we analyze the results and prepare the construction contract. After selecting all of the subcontactors, the construction drawings are submitted to the local building department for review. Once the building permit is obtained, construction will begin.

After you move in, Cornerstone will continue to work with you. Our Warranty Department will want to schedule a meeting with you at your new home after approximately 30 days of occupancy to go over any questions you have and then again at 11 months to address your concerns.
